Hmmm Van den Heuvel - toch niet een van mijn favoriete orgelbouwers (eerder verguisd dan vereerd). Ik begrijp niet dat er mensen zijn die waardering kunnen opbrengen voor het namaak- en gekunstelde werk van de gebroeders Van den Heuvel. Opvolgers van Cavaille-Coll --- laat me niet lachen! Alleen de pretentie al. Een beetje ingetogenheid siert OOK een orgelbouwer, geen enkele is perfect (ook Cav-Coll niet) en zeker Van den Heuvel niet! Persoonlijk kan ik veel meer waardering opbrengen voor bouwers als Verschueren en Vermeulen, qua houding en qua klankmatig en kwaliteitsbeleid. Ik hoop dat sommige mensen hierdoor aan het denken worden gezet. Ik hoop dat de kortzichtigheid in Nederland over het 'geweldige' product van Van den Heuvel snel over gaat en men oog krijgt voor echte orgelbouwers. Rest mij nog iedereen een goed orgeljaar toe te wensen. PS Als je het niet met mij eens bent, mail me dan eens. Ik kan deze stellingen alle onderbouwen. Groeten, Pieter

I like the organs from Van den Heuvel (vdH) very much. He is the pioneer of the European organ builders and does not hesitate to add new technoligies into his creations (digital electronic systems, closed chambers for the Barker's, etc). Most of the other organ builders are old-fashioned and are stuck with century old techniques. Van den Heuvel has proved that new techniques can be used to enhance the performance thus increasing the pleasure to play and hear his organs. We never forget the concert from Jean Guillou, organist titulaire of the Saint Eustache, playing his organ virtually with 4 hands and 4 feets - 2 hands/feet prerecorded using the ICMI system and embedding a new improvisation into it: unbelievable!! Indeed the organ's vdH has build are majestic and unsurpassed. I have been in his factory some time ago and I was impressed by the way his organs are build. I also played the great organ in Katwijk (Nieuwe Kerk): overwelming and very impressive! Especially the Barker's system makes it easy and pleasant to play such a big organ. It's to be wished that vdH continues to build these organs!
