Net als dat er bij jullie orgels wat minder goede tussen zitten, heb ik ook tussen de pagina's van jullie site een incorrecte gevonden.Het betreft de pagina met info aangaande het orgel in de Bethelkerk te Ridderkerk. Er staat bij 'speelhulpen' vermeld dat dit orgel (eenduidelijk voorbeeld van een minder fraaie prestatie van uw kant wat kwaliteit betreft) beschikt over 'Combinatiestemmen Pedaal, CombinatiestemmenHoofdwerk en Combinatiestemmen Bovenwerk. Ik weet zeker dat er maar twee voetschakelaars op het instrument zitten. Volgens mij is er alleen eenvoetschakelaar om de combinatiestemmen van het pedaal af te koppelen en een voetschakelaar om de combinatiestemmen van het hoofdwerk af te koppelen.Mogelijk worden door deze laatste schakelaar ook meteen de combinatiestemmen van het hoofdwerk afgekoppeld.Verder zou ik het persoonlijk zeer aardig vinden als u bij de instrument-info ook enige samples geeft om een impressie te krijgen van het instrument.Dus op de pagina met gedetaileerde info over het instrument. Het hoeft dan zeker niet te gaan om gecompliceerde muziek uitgevoerd door hoogstaande musici,maar eerder om een impressie te krijgen van het klankspectrum van het instrument.

Well, you two! This new and expanded and very educational site is utter-ly ravishing.The Holy Apostles flap, aaahhh! don't worry about it. I live mere blocks away,know it well. Wouldn't pay any attention to much of anything, and I'd tell Mr. Rosales the same.Also, OCH.It's a matter of too many hands making the broth..as in" too many cooks spoil the broth" This is a fine instrument which went thru a difficult adoption.My first visit to St. Eustache was in October,1989-a mere month after dedication,and I was lucky enough to meet M. Guillou who walked me through the guts of this mighty "machine" It is an ex- perience I shall retain vividly un- till old age robs me of memory. Hoewel er natuurlijk van allerlei vraagtekens bij jullie orgels te plaatsen zijn, wat betreft intonatie en dergelijke, heb ik bij niemand in dit gastboek nu eens een uitgebalanceerd commentaar op de orgels gelezen. In de zomer van 2000 ben ik voor het eerst in Parijs geweest, en daar niet alleen het orgel van de St. Eustache gehoord, maar ook die van de St. Sulpice, de Notre Dame en de Madeleine. Zonder iets kwijt te willen over het verschil in kwaliteit tussen Cavaille-Coll en Van den Heuvel, moet ik zeggen dat ik toch altijd enorm onder de indruk ben als ik in Katwijk en de St. Eustache zit, alleen al vanwege de ontzettend goede weking van het zwelwerk en de schit-te-ren-de Voix Humaine's op die orgels. Van den Heuvel orgels hebben een bepaalde kleurrijke ruigheid die absoluut bestaansrecht heeft. Het beste bewijs daarvoor ligt volgens mij in iemand als Jean Guillou, die na het symfonische (Franck, Widor, Vierne) en het liturgische (Tournemire, Langlais, Messiaen), in zijn composities het dramatische orgeltype propageert. Het orgel als een acteur op een podium dus. Van den Heuvel orgels blijken zich daar bijzonder goed voor te lenen, men luistere daarvoor de fantastische opnamen op Philips met werken van Guillou.In ieder geval vind ik Van den Heuvels uitgangspunten in de orgelbouw heel wat verfrissender dan al het eindeloze gekopieer, hoe nuttig bestudering van grote orgelbouwers uit het verleden ook kan zijn, van Schnitger orgels met prehistorische stemmingen waar alleen de - overigens prachtige - muziek van Sweelinck e.d. op te spelen is. We leven in de 21ste eeuw, dus we moeten vooruit!

Schitterende site van een geweldig orgelbouwer. Ik ben niet iemand die van een specifieke stijl houdt. Juist de varieteit die wij, vooral in ons land, kennen maakt het luisteren naar orgelmuziek boeiend. De brede, warme symphonische klanken van de van den Heuvel orgels vindt ik echt uniek. In de lijn van Cavellier Coll o.k., maar ik vindt dat van den Heuvel echt iets nieuws maakt. Juist eens iets totaal anders. Iets waar we in orgelland allemaal op zitten te wachten, maar wat bij de meesten helaas niet gevonden wordt. Ik wens de firma van den Heuvel veel inspiratie toe om vernieuwend door te blijven gaan. Having played both organs in Katwijk and Paris,St.Eustache,there is no doubt that those instruments provide maximal tonal ressources for a very large repertoire ,having largely captured the "esprit" of Cavaille-Coll,without sticking to traditions however:the spirit of the symphonic organs in an advanced interpretation.Good luck for further projects,maybe also in a different,even more contemporary style! having played both the organ of Katwijk and the one at st.eustache,i am impressed by the interpretation the voicers give to Cavaille-Coll-style building properties,englobing modern technologies.Those beautiful instruments capture by their power and refined voicing,and suit a large catalogue of repertoire .The particularly nice architectural sourrounding,especially St.Eustache's ,add substantial noblesse and "esprit " to the instrument ,and Jean Guillou's thrilling performances lifts all up to musically outstanding experiences.good luck for new projects and eventually a secondary enlarged direction of style.the one of contemporary instruments in a new style!
